Profile
Peter had a general common law pupillage with Timothy Ryder at 5 John Dalton Street Chambers in Manchester and thereafter practised in both civil and family work. In 2002 he moved to Deans Court Chambers to further his commitment to a career in family law and has built up a substantial and busy practice.
Peter’s background as a family practitioner has led to an interest in the growing jurisdiction of the Court of Protection and the development of the law relating to vulnerable adults and young people.
In the context of his care work Peter has experience of dealing with issues of mental capacity, the services to be provided to disabled adults and children and the difficult issues around the interface between children’s services and adult social services as vulnerable children approach adulthood.
Peter has advised in property and affairs cases in the Court of Protection where there are issues of suspected elder abuse. His work in the fields of ancillary relief, Trusts of Land, wills and trusts and in family property generally means he is ideally placed to address the issues which can arise in these cases.
