Following successful completion of pupillage under Sebastian Clegg, Jonathan has developed a busy civil practice with an emphasis on commercial and chancery work. This includes working on contractual disputes, property work (including TOLATA work, mortgage possession proceedings), and bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, as well as a broad range of both Claimant and Defendant personal injury work.
In court, Jonathan is regularly instructed to represent clients at fast track and small claims hearings, as well as at interim application and case management hearings. In addition, he is regularly instructed to advise on and settle pleadings for a range of commercial and personal injury matters.
Prior to undertaking pupillage at Deans Court Chambers, Jonathan worked as a Vice-President in the legal department of US investment bank Goldman Sachs. During his 4 years at the bank’s European headquarters in London, Jonathan was responsible for advising on and implementing the requirements of domestic and international anti-corruption and anti-money laundering legislation. His hands-on experience of applying the law in a rigorous and yet commercially practical manner leaves him well placed to advise companies, organisations and individuals on how best to use the law to achieve the results they desire.
