Janet Ironfield is principally a Preston-based practitioner, instructed to prosecute and defend in a wide range of serious cases, including murder, robbery, sexual offences, offences of violence and drugs conspiracies
International Work
Janet has also contested trials in the Falkland Islands and in March 2010, Defended a Chilean national (non-English speaking) charged with sexual and violent offences against his partner during a protracted 'domestic' incident. The case involved disputed issues of fact and legal argument in relation to the definition of 'sexual touching'. The resulting acquittal was not overturned on a subsequent Appeal.Professional Associations
