Profile 

Eliza had a specialist family pupillage at Deans Court Chambers with Peter Rothery and Julia Cheetham. She now practices in all areas of family law, including public and private children work, ancillary relief and cohabitation disputes involving Trusts of Land and the determination of property rights. 

Eliza is also an accredited ADR Group mediator.   

Eliza is regularly instructed to advise Local Authorities during public law pre-proceeding and frequently represents Local Authorities in all stages of care proceedings, through to final hearing. She also regularly acts for children and parents within family proceedings and is sensitive to the particular needs of vulnerable clients within the system. 

In crime, Eliza has experience of both prosecuting and defending a range of criminal matters, and has a particular interest in cases where there is a cross over between criminal and family law. Eliza recently appeared in the High Court in relation to an application for disclosure of documentation from family proceedings into criminal proceedings, regarding allegations of sexual abuse and rape. She has also acted in Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 work in the Crown Court, successfully defending a matter involving the applicability of Defendants’ rights under the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973, and the determination of beneficial interests under a constructive trust. 

Eliza also undertakes general civil work, and regularly acts for Defendants in personal injury and credit hire matters.
