Profile:

Since being called to the Bar in 1996 Archna has practised predominately in family law. She was a tenant in a thriving set of chambers in Bristol for over 10 years and has now returned to her ‘home roots’ and joined Deans Court Chambers.

Matrimonial Finance:

Archna undertakes all aspects of family work with a particular interest in matrimonial finance often involving cases of high value. She is regularly instructed at an early stage in order to assist with the smooth running of a case in particular on the issues of disclosure. In addition, she undertakes cohabitation cases.

Public Law Proceedings:

Archna acts on behalf of Local Authorities, parents, grandparents and children in public law cases. These have involved issues of serious neglect, non-accidental injuries with complex medical evidence, sexual abuse, physical abuse, alcohol/drug abuse and parents with learning difficulties (involving representation by the Official Solicitor). She often appears in the High Court and her cases can involve children giving evidence.

Private law:

In private law matters Archna represents parents and guardians in complex residence/contact disputes in cases where allegations of physical and sexual abuse are made, ‘implacably hostile’ mothers and issues of children being ‘coached’ to make up allegations against another parent.

In addition to the above Archna has a particular interest and experience in cases with clients from different ethnic backgrounds. She can conduct conferences in Hindi.
